How to read a day card

The journal is a record of fills already taken. The day card is that day’s rollup: count, net P/L, win rate, long vs short. It is not a forecast and not a bot. Week and month are the same numbers stacked.

What each number is

  • Fills — closed trades that day, not working orders.
  • Net P/L — sum of those fills. Fees if you entered them. Not overnight mark-to-market on a scanner.
  • Win rate — wins ÷ fills. A 80% day on two trades is noise.
  • Long / short — side mix. It does not tell you if the process was valid.

Use the browser journal to type fills. Use the Windows journal if you want Schwab history and a calendar. Free with the $149 stock scanner, or $29.99 alone.

If the card is ugly, size next session with the position-size guide before you open the tape.
