How do I calculate the percentage change in a crypto price?

Percentage change = (New Price − Old Price) ÷ Old Price × 100. For example, if BTC moves from $80,000 to $100,000: ($100,000 − $80,000) ÷ $80,000 × 100 = +25%. If BTC falls from $100,000 to $80,000: ($80,000 − $100,000) ÷ $100,000 × 100 = −20%. Note that a 25% gain is not reversed by a 25% loss — a 25% gain from $80,000 gives $100,000, but a 25% loss from $100,000 gives only $75,000.

What is a good percentage gain in crypto?

Note the asymmetry: a 25% gain is not cancelled by a 25% loss. A 25% gain from $80,000 = $100,000, but a 25% loss from $100,000 = $75,000 — not back to $80,000. This asymmetry is why loss prevention matters more than chasing gains.
