NYSE American Equities: pre-open orders from 6:30 a.m. ET queue until the Early Open Auction at 7:00 a.m. Early 7:00–9:30, Core 9:30–4:00, Late 4:00–8:00. Not Arca overnight. Founding, headquarters, and fees TODO:VERIFY.
Official NYSE American clocks
Cite the NYSE Holidays and Trading Hours hub at nyse.com/trade/hours-calendars, read for this lock on 25 August 2026. All times Eastern. NYSE American is a separate NMS stock exchange — not the NYSE Tape A primary listing market and not NYSE Arca. Locked clocks on this page are Early 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Core 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Late 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., overnight none. Founding year is TODO:VERIFY. Headquarters is TODO:VERIFY.

The hours hub lists a Pre-Opening window at 6:30 a.m.: orders can be entered and will be queued until the Early Open Auction at 7:00 a.m. That 6:30 a.m. stamp is order entry, not continuous matching. The locked Early Session start is 7:00 a.m. Core runs 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Late then runs to 8:00 p.m. The same holiday calendar as other NYSE markets applies; this profile does not copy the full holiday table. Check the hub for a named date. NYSE describes American as price/time, make/take, with primary listings for small-cap companies and electronic designated market makers. This page invents no listing counts.
Heritage as the American Stock Exchange
NYSE describes the market as drawing on its heritage as the American Stock Exchange. The hours and model pages used for this lock do not print a founding year. This profile does not invent one. Headquarters is TODO:VERIFY. “American Stock Exchange” is heritage language, not a live clock and not Tape A NYSE. Do not write a year next to that heritage line unless an official page used for the lock actually prints it.
Small-cap primary listings are a market-structure note, not an IPO ranking and not a market-capitalisation cutoff this page can invent. Electronic designated market makers sit in the model description. They are not a fill guarantee and not a reason to skip a stop. Classify the venue before you classify the name.
Not Tape A, not Arca 4:00 a.m., not overnight
NYSE Tape A has no continuous early session. Tape A orders queue from 6:30 a.m. into the 9:30 a.m. opening auction. NYSE American is not that Tape A clock. American’s continuous early matching starts at 7:00 a.m. after its own Early Open Auction. If you treat an American-routed order as Tape A, you wait for a 9:30 a.m. cross that American already left at 7:00 a.m. If you treat it as Arca, you look for a 4:00 a.m. print that American does not make.
4:00 a.m. continuous early is Arca, Nasdaq, and Cboe BZX/EDGX. 7:00 a.m. continuous early is NYSE Tape B/C, NYSE American, National, Texas, Cboe BYX, and Cboe EDGA. IEX Pre-Market starts at 8:00 a.m. and IEX Post-Market ends at 5:00 p.m. American late runs to 8:00 p.m., like Arca, not like IEX. See pre-market trading and the U.S. session hours 2026 hub. A 4:07 a.m. candle on a symbol that also trades on American is not an American print.
Arca, Nasdaq, and Cboe EDGX list 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. as planned for 6 December 2026, subject to SEC, SIP, and DTCC. The NYSE hours hub does not list an Overnight Session for NYSE American Equities. This profile does not invent one. Do not copy Arca’s planned pause 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. onto American. Do not write American as 23/5. A broker overnight window is ATS access, not an American session. This page names no brokers as venues. Index-options GTH on Cboe C1 is a different product; Cboe C1 equity-options GTH is TBA. Neither is American equities Early, Core, or Late.
Fees, sizing, and what this page is not
Fee, rebate, access, and market-data numbers are TODO:VERIFY against the then-current NYSE American price list. Make/take is named as structure, not as a live rate. Example sizing only: account $10,000, 1 percent risk equals $100. Stop $1.50 away. Shares = floor(100 ÷ 1.50) = 66, round down, on the risk calculator (crypto UI; treat the unit as shares). PDT is not current law. Trading halts in Core follow the usual LULD and news-halt machinery; no halt counts invented. The U.S. stock scanner is Coming soon — not live, no subscription price. The official close for last-sale purposes remains the Core close at 4:00 p.m. American’s late session after that close is not a second official close.
This page is not a 4:00 a.m. Arca clock, not Tape A hours, not exchange overnight, not 24/7, not a broker-hours table, and not a fee quote. It is not personalized advice. Session times can change; unknowns stay marked TODO:VERIFY.
The 2008 NYSE acquisition is not a founding year (TODO:VERIFY). American stays on current hours, not Arca overnight.
FAQ
Does NYSE American open at 4:00 a.m. like Arca?
No. American’s Early Trading Session starts at 7:00 a.m. ET. The 6:30 a.m. pre-opening stamp is a queue into the 7:00 a.m. Early Open Auction, not 4:00 a.m. matching.
Is NYSE American the same as Tape A NYSE hours?
No. Tape A has no continuous early session. American is a different exchange with live early matching from 7:00 a.m. and a late session to 8:00 p.m.
Does NYSE American trade overnight?
No. Overnight is not listed for American Equities. Planned 23/5 overnight on other venues, including Arca, is not live as of 25 August 2026 and is not copied here.
Does late trading run until 8:00 p.m.?
Yes, on the hours hub: 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET. That late book is still not IEX. IEX Post-Market ends at 5:00 p.m. on a full day.
Are NYSE American fees, founding year, or headquarters on this page?
No. Fees TODO:VERIFY. Founding TODO:VERIFY. Headquarters TODO:VERIFY. Heritage as the American Stock Exchange is named without a year. This is not a broker-hours table and not personalized advice.
Not financial advice. Trading stocks can result in loss of capital. Session times are from NYSE hours documents as of 25 August 2026 and can change. Unknowns are marked TODO:VERIFY. Educational content from DennTech Trading Solutions.
